Spotlight 2023 at MAKE Southwest

Spotlight 2023 is a really lovely biennial exhibition of Associate Members’ work at MAKE Southwest (formerly known as Devon Guild of Crafts) and I’m really pleased to be taking part with Alison Shelton Brown (mixed media jewellery), Emma Studd (printmaking), Helen Allen (printmaking) Ruth Readman (ceramics) Sara Evans (ceramics) Sarah Sullivan (ceramics) Fern Robinson (jewellery) and Theo Crutchley-Mack (mixed media).

This year I am focussing on my true passion - the sea - and developing new work inspired by the colours and forms found in marine life and the coastline. For this exhibition I have created a new feature wall piece which I’ve called Sea Ribbon Circus - a playful and colourful multi-layered sculptural installation inspired by flowing sea kelp (or ‘ribbons’), shells and anemones.

To complement the wall piece are three smaller seagrass panels set into a wooden base so they are freestanding. And I am also exhibiting three new large sculptural bowls, in colours and textures all linking to the main piece.

The exhibition runs from 22 April to 24 June 2023. Please visit the MAKE Southwest website for opening times.
